4/14 global summit New York

9:37 PM

Jane Mackie, Ann Low from Malaysia, Irma Chon from the USA, Lynn Howson from Scotland were the leaders for our Children in Transformational Ministry (Children’s Track) at the 4/14 Window Global Summit held in New York from 2nd to 5th September.

The other participants were 20 young people, aged 12 to 17, from 8 nations – Australia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Africa, UK and USA.  See 4/14 Window Global Summit II Group Picture for a photo of the 600 Summit participants, with our track in the front row!  I believe something like 80 nations were represented.

Our track meetings were wonderful times of relationship building, worship, prayer, sharing, encouragement and listening to God.  Opportunity was also given for the young people to pray and participate in plenary sessions, and although brief, the impact was great, especially as they prayed for their own generation.

In our final track session where we focused on “where to from here?” a range of thoughts and ideas were shared, e.g. A greater level of commitment, passion, courage and obedience to God; commitment to sharing the vision of 4/14 on return to their nation; impacting and recruiting more children to be transformers; reaching the unreached;  taking opportunities to travel to other countries;  staying in touch, keeping each other accountable, encouraging each other and praying for each other.

The session closed with a corporate prayer of commitment – to boldness, loving God, honoring His presence, highly valuing the place of worship, believing in each other, believing in their generation, obedience to His call to take 4/14 to the nations, to pray for each other, to pray for their generation, to step into their destiny.

Our track report given on Sunday 5th September highlighted 4 main points:

1.The children were inspired and encouraged by so many world leaders coming together and recognizing the importance of their generation.

2.They were equipped, through the Holy Spirit, prayer, and the Bible

3.They took ownership of the 4/14 generation

4.They made commitments to serve.  Their prayer was to be like John the

Baptist who was humble and prepared the way for the Lord.

As a leadership team, and in consultation with others, we are now exploring the possibility of holding similar meetings for 4/14ers on a regional basis, i.e. Asia/Pacific, Europe, Africa and South America.  We will also be working on widening representation at the 2011 Global Summit so that more 4/14ers from more nations will have the opportunity to represent their generation at these strategic events.

TESTIMONIES FROM 4/14 NEW YORK

From Tito, Kenya: “New York was so much fun. The conference was so amazing and was such a blessing. I have to say that the track meetings were just the best. Super in fact. I had such a lovely time hearing and talking to God during the worship sessions in the track meetings. I also enjoyed and learnt a lot from the Children in Prayer and Media and Technology workshops.

In our Church we are hoping to start a Bible club's network and to encourage as many Gen Ys and Gen Zs to start Bible Clubs in their neighbourhoods. This Sunday I'll be giving a report about the conference to our teens church and encouraging as many teens to start Bible clubs as well as sharing with them the importance of reaching out to the 4/14 generation. We also hope to have national children's prayer rallies. In fact there is one on the 2nd of October here in Nairobi. Pray for the 4/14 generation in Kenya which is about 30% of the population. I sure do hope that one day each one of you will get an opportunity to come to Kenya, see our wildlife and get to work with some of the 4/14ers here in Kenya.

I am praying for the 20 of us who attended the kids track, for God to continue using us powerfully and walking with us in our lives.”

From Vera-Mari, South Africa “I just cannot say how much I miss you….. I cannot wait for the next meeting. Hope to see you again.

I just want to say thanx again for such a fun, wonderful experience, for all the words of wisdom, for being there by my side and all the prayers … It was a real magnificent experience, I just cannot stop using the word wonderful to describe the summit, then there was the sneaking out of the BIGROOM and going to the track-room and just listening to God if I could I would rather be there right now! .. The main thing is that I learnt how to hear Gods’ voice clearly and now I have to keep on listening to his voice and obeying by teaching my friends how to hear Gods’ voice.

I wanted to ask if you could pray for the nerves, because I must speak at school about the trip, the summit and what God has done for me during the week I was in New York with you.

Thanx a lot for everything!!!!!! Cannot wait to hear from you again!”
